一件大型日本萨摩烧佛像, dating to the Meiji Period (1868–1912). Richly decorated with intricate hand-painted floral and brocade patterns enhanced with extensive gilt decoration. The figure stands 38 cm high and weighs approximately 5.5 kg. The raised hand originally held a ritual implement which is now missing. There is also an old crack and losses to the underside of the base. Despite these condition issues, the figure remains an impressive decorative and collectible example of Meiji-period Satsuma craftsmanship.
