Authentic, hand-painted Russian lacquer box from the famous center of Palekh. The lid features a finely detailed scene with gold leaf accents from Pavel Bazhov’s fairy tale "Sinyushkin Kolodets" (Sinyushka's Well). Traditional egg tempera technique on papier-mâché with a classic red interior.
Markings: Titled "Синюшкин колодец", marked "Палех", and signed by artist A. Z. Roshchin (Рощин А. З.) in gold script.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. High-gloss finish is intact; painting is vivid with no cracks. Hinge works perfectly.
