Deeply Etched Floral & Botanical Motif Offered here is an exquisite set of twelve mouth-blown crystal wine glasses by Saint-Louis, France — the oldest glass manufacturer in France, founded in 1586 , and the first manufactory of lead crystal in Continental Europe, a distinction achieved in 1781. Saint-Louis became part of the renowned Hermès Group in 1995.

Each glass features a graceful tulip-shaped bowl resting on a delicate faceted knopped stem and a fine circular foot. The bowls are entirely enveloped in an elaborate acid-etched design of intertwining botanicals — wheat stalks, roses, scrolling vines, berries, and foliage — creating an all-over pattern of remarkable depth and artistry. Such engraving reflects the cold studio work at Saint-Louis, where grinders, polishers, and engravers strive for perfection — a single mistake can destroy the precious glassware. Each glass retains its original gold-bordered “Saint-Louis France” sticker on the base. The pattern here — dense botanical engraving with a knopped stem — is consistent with mid-to-late 20th century Saint-Louis production.
