Decorative Wall Panel - Qing Dynasty (19th Century)
An authentic antique Chinese rectangular panel crafted from solid wood during the late Qing Dynasty (19th century). This fine decorative piece showcases a double traditional artistic technique:
• Upper Section: Finished in traditional cinnabar red lacquer and finely incised with black-line detailing depicting a classic scene of women and playing children (the auspicious 'Hundred Boys' theme).
• Lower Section: Features a deeply carved high-relief (giltwood) scene showcasing martial and theatrical figures from the traditional Chinese Opera, enriched with generous remnants of original gold leaf gilding and mineral green pigments.
The reverse shows an aged, naturally patinated wooden frame structure. It still bears old inventory and cataloging numbers hand-written in white grease chalk ("2230-
42", "QB", "QFW") from a past Western auction house or private collection. Equipped with an old hanging cord, it is ready to be displayed as a unique piece of Asian art and
wall decor.
