卖家的描述
☆ Armor Master Ryugyoku(龍玉) – 請年武裝(Domaru Armor)為五月端午節(Tango-no-Sekku)而製 – 古代武士盔甲風格(無保留價格)
This armor was created for Tango-no-Sekku, the traditional Japanese celebrated in May. It is a reproduction of “Domaru,” a traditional style of Japanese samurai armor. Based on the formal structure of the National Treasure-class Oyoroi armor of the Heian and Kamakura periods, master armor craftsman Ryugyoku Ono created this work with his own refined artistic sensibility. Richly constructed with metal components, this authentic armor possesses a remarkable sense of weight and dignity, and despite its relatively compact size, it has an impressive presence.
Ryugyoku is known as a master armor craftsman officially recognized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Domaru armor originally emerged during the mid-Heian period as armor designed for infantry combat. Its greatest characteristic is its lightweight and practical structure: the cuirass wraps around the body in a cylindrical form and is fastened with cords at the right side, allowing excellent mobility and ease of movement.
From the Heian period (794–1185) through the Kamakura period (1185–1333), “Oyoroi” armor was the dominant form of Japanese armor. However, as warfare increasingly involved combat on foot rather than exclusively mounted combat, the highly mobile Domaru style gradually became popular among not only lower-ranking warriors but also high-ranking samurai.
【What is Tango no Sekku?】
Tango no Sekku, celebrated on May 5, is a traditional Japanese festival held to pray for the healthy growth and protection of boys. The custom of displaying armor and helmets is said to date back to the Kamakura period (1185–1333).
