橋詰正英 Hashizume Masahide (1959–)

橋詰正英 Hashizume Masahide (1959–) was born in Tateshina, Nagano Prefecture. He completed the graduate program in ceramics at the Tokyo University of the Arts, where he trained as a live-in apprentice for approximately seven years under Fujimoto Yoshimichi, a Living National Treasure and master of iro-e (overglaze enamel) porcelain. Hashizume is a full member of the Japan Kogei Association and has held solo exhibitions at prestigious venues including Nihonbashi Takashimaya and Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi. His work focuses on iro-e porcelain, characterised by refined overglaze enamel paintings of nature — most notably red and white plum blossoms, peonies, wild grapes, and birds such as varied tits and owls.
