Description
Exquisite Japanese Lacquerware Vase & Stand - "Giyaman" Golden Sakura Series
This stunning lacquerware flower vase and matching stand represent the perfect harmony between traditional Japanese craftsmanship and modern elegance. Produced by the renowned Kano workshop, this piece belongs to the celebrated "Giyaman" series, famous for its brilliant, mirror-like finish that rivals the luster of glass (from which the name "Giyaman" originates).
The deep black lacquer provides a dramatic backdrop for the intricate Golden Sakura (Cherry Blossom) design. Each blossom is rendered with delicate gold leaf and metallic pigments, creating a shimmering effect that changes beautifully depending on the light. This item is not only a functional vase but also a sophisticated piece of interior art that embodies the aesthetic of the late Showa period.
The meaning of "Giyaman"
While the word "Giyaman" was historically used in Japan to refer to precious diamonds or glass, this exquisite vase is crafted from high-quality traditional lacquerware. The name was given to this series to celebrate its extraordinary luster and crystal-clear depth, which rival the brilliance of fine glassware.
Material & Texture
Unlike cold glass, this lacquerware piece has a warm, smooth texture that is unique to Japanese craftsmanship. It is much more durable and resistant to shattering than glass, making it a perfect functional art piece for international shipping and long-term display. The stunning visual effect is achieved through multiple layers of lacquer and meticulous polishing by skilled artisans.
The set comes with its original golden presentation box, making it an ideal gift or a prized addition to any collection of Japanese art.

Vase: Height 20 cm / Width 5 cm
