An early Eames Lounge Chair 670 in unrestored original condition. Examination of the aluminium base confirms attribution to the European Vitra licensed production — designed by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller, manufactured under licence by Vitra. This chair has remained in continuous family ownership since its acquisition — three generations, never restored, never resold.
Features
Aluminium base with characteristic Vitra casting — integrated glides, tapered foot ends
Three-hole drilling under the armrests
Round cushion clips with ventilation holes
Solid aluminium brackets with round rubber discs
5-ply veneer shell, warm medium brown
Production number B 5781, hand-written on the back of the headrest shell
Condition
Original black leather, soft, with honest age patina — no heavy cracking
Two buttons missing from the seat cushion
Tilt mechanism fully operational
Without ottoman
