Description:
This painting is part of an ongoing series in which the female figure communicates with nature. She is both a traveler and an explorer, moving through landscapes that become spaces for introspection and discovery. The works embrace an analogue sense of being in time—slowing down, simplifying, and reconnecting with the present moment. These quiet encounters unfold as inner monologues or silent dialogues with nature, where stillness invites reflection and a deeper awareness of oneself and the world
About the artist:
Nora Ampova (b. 1989) is a visual artist based in Sofia, Bulgaria.
She holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Painting (2008-2014) from the National Academy of Arts Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2011, she specialized in Fine Arts at the University of Hertfordshire, UK, as part of the Erasmus exchange program.
Her artistic practice spans painting, collage, drawing, sculpture, and digital media. Deeply rooted in personal experience, her work explores themes of isolation, solitude, self-sufficiency, travel, and the complex relationship between humans and nature. Nora's process is intuitive and introspective, often seeking to capture the emotional and existential dimensions of contemporary life.
She has exhibited widely, with numerous solo shows, collaborative projects, and international participations.
She is increasingly recognised as an emerging voice within the Bulgarian contemporary art scene.
