Exceptional Honba Oshima Tsumugi Silk Men's Kimono & Haori Ensemble – Rare Fujin & Raijin Lining – Japan
Item Description
This is a rare and exceptional men's Honba Oshima Tsumugi ensemble (kimono and haori) crafted from fine 100% silk (Shoken).
The exterior features the refined elegance of authentic Honba Oshima Tsumugi, woven in a sophisticated deep indigo tone with an intricate kasuri pattern. While understated on the outside, the true highlight of this ensemble is revealed inside the haori.
The haori lining is beautifully decorated with a striking hand-painted depiction of Fujin (风神) and Raijin (雷神)—two of the most iconic deities in Japanese art and folklore. Designs featuring Fujin and Raijin on a haori lining are seldom found on the market, making this an exceptionally collectible and highly desirable piece.
This contrast between the elegant exterior and the dramatic artwork hidden within perfectly embodies the Japanese aesthetic of understated luxury and refined taste. It is an outstanding garment for collectors, enthusiasts of traditional Japanese clothing, or admirers of Japanese art.
The ensemble remains in excellent vintage condition, with no noticeable stains or significant damage observed.
