卖家的描述
Item Description
A truly majestic pair of Italian .800 solid silver sugar casters, also known as saupoudreuses. These substantial pieces are a beautiful marriage of Neoclassical and Renaissance design elements, likely dating to the mid-20th century (c. 1950s).
The craftsmanship is exceptional, featuring a dual-patterned body: the lower half is adorned with a delicate imbricated scale pattern, while the upper section features a chased frieze of oak leaves and acorns, symbols of strength and hospitality. The elegant baluster shape sits upon a stepped, decorative foot, leading to a finely perforated domed lid crowned with a classic finial.
Key Features:
Origin: Italy.
Material: Solid .800 Silver (Guaranteed).
Design: Neoclassical foliate and Renaissance scale repoussé.
Weight: 227 grams (net silver weight for the pair).
Height: 18 cm (Impressive table presence).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the "800" purity mark on the foot rim.
Condition Remarks
Condition Report: This pair is in very good vintage condition with a brilliant luster. The exterior silver work remains crisp and well-defined. Technical Note: One of the casters has a minor, hairline crack on the internal collar of the lid. This is a common age-related occurrence and is completely invisible from the outside when the lid is in place.
