An exquisite pair of larger Kyo-Satsuma vases in mint condition from the Meiji period, measuring 20 and 20,5 cm in height (one is slightly smaller than the other). Attributed to Shōzan 圧山. Vases are decorated with figural scenes depicting court ladies and aristocrats enjoying a flowering sakura tree by a pond with flowering irises. Hand-painted with detail. Natural crackle on the glaze.
Condition: excellent, with very minor wear to the gilding.
