Antique Dutch Wooden Wall Newspaper Holder / Clip "Dagbladen" - ca. 1920-1930
An authentic, antique Dutch wall-mounted newspaper holder (krantenhouder) from the early 20th century. This functional piece of folk art features a spring-loaded wooden clamp mechanism used to neatly hold daily newspapers in a hallway, library, or café.
The dark-stained oak casing is beautifully decorated with a lighter wood-carved floral/acanthus leaf ornament, showing distinct Amsterdam School and late Art Nouveau influences. The front features a central weathered zinc/metal plate with the Dutch text "Dagbladen" (Newspapers) in an elegant, period-correct script.
The reverse side features two metal triangular hanging loops and an old paper inventory label with the handwritten number "211".
Material: Oak wood, plywood, zinc/metal plate
Period: ca. 1920s - 1930s
Country of origin: Netherlands / Flanders
Condition: Antique condition with beautiful patina. Normal signs of age and wear. Some veneer chipping/scuffs on the bottom left and right corners, and minor age-related cracks in the wood on the back, as clearly visible in the photographs. The spring mechanism is functional.
Dimensions: Standard size for wall mounting.
Method of shipment: The item will be packed with care using protective materials and shipped via registered mail with Track & Trace.
