Struck in 1672 by the Province of West Friesland, this impressive silver Ducaton, commonly known as the Silver Rider, is one of the most iconic crown-sized coins of the Dutch Republic. Introduced in 1659, the Ducaton became an internationally respected trade coin, valued for its high silver content and widely accepted in commerce throughout Europe and overseas.
