卖家的描述

Description:
A sculptural Bizen ware guinomi with a strongly faceted and irregular form. The surface combines natural clay textures with areas of white crackled glaze, dark scorched tones, and metallic gold- and copper-like effects created during firing.

The rim is uneven and angular, leading into a body defined by vertical planes and protruding elements that emphasize its tactile, sculptural character. The interior is finished in a dark glaze with crackle patterns and metallic pooling toward the base.

The piece is accompanied by a signed tomobako (wooden storage box) secured with a blue and brown striped cord, a blue cloth, and an artist’s leaflet.

Dimensions:
Width: 7.5 cm
Depth: 7.0 cm
Height: 6.5 cm
Weight: 245 g

Condition:
No visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
Minor kiln-related marks, glaze variations, or signs of handling may be present.

Artist Profile:
Toru Ichikawa / 市川 透 (b. 1973)
Born in Tokyo, Ichikawa Toru is a prominent contemporary ceramicist who has studied under the master Ryuichi Kakurezaki since 2011. He established his own studio in Tamano, Okayama Prefecture, in 2015. His work is defined by a "thirst for freedom," utilizing a Bizen clay base mixed with minerals and metal oxides to create a unique fusion of traditional unglazed firing and contemporary sculptural aesthetics. A key achievement includes his 2017 offering of the black tenmoku tea bowl “Kagutsuchi” to the Kamigamo Shrine. His exhibition history includes prestigious domestic venues such as Nihonbashi Takashimaya, Yokohama Takashimaya, and Daimaru Osaka, as well as international representation at Art Fair Tokyo, Art Beijing, Revelations in Paris, and the Asia Contemporary Art Show in Hong Kong.
