Barca-Velha is one of Portugal’s most iconic and prestigious wines, produced by Casa Ferreirinha in the Douro. It is only released in exceptional vintages and is widely recognised as one of Portugal’s great red wines, with enormous ageing potential.
The 2011 vintage is one of the great modern vintages of the Douro, characterised by concentration, structure and great ageing potential. The Magnum format is particularly prized by collectors, as it allows the wine to evolve more slowly and in a more balanced manner.
