An impressive large French decorative sculpture, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, depicting an elegant female figure in a dynamic pose, holding a violin together with musical or decorative attributes.

The composition may be interpreted as an Allegory of Music – “La Musique” and is characterised by flowing movement, elongated proportions and finely modelled details in the hair, facial features, drapery and musical instrument.
