Sami Khedira is a former German footballer. During his playing career, he played as a defensive midfielder, regarded as one of the best of his generation and in the history of his country.

Trained in the VfB Stuttgart academy, he made his Bundesliga debut with the first team, becoming champion in his first year with the club in the 2006-07 season. In 2010, he signed for Real Madrid CF, where he established himself as champion of the Champions League 2013-14 and remained for five seasons until 2015, the year he signed for Juventus FC.

He was an international for Germany since 2009, with whom he won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Previously, he was part of Germany's youth teams, captaining the European Under-21 Championship in 2009. In January 2021, he moved to Hertha BSC and finished his football career after the 2020/21 season.
