天女是指居住在天界的女性，總稱為侍奉天帝的女官。她們據說穿著羽衣能在空中飛行（羽衣傳說）。飛天是在佛教藝術中經常出現的「在空中飛行的人物」，特別是女性形象的角色會被視為天女。有學說認為它起源於印度，也有學說認為源於東方或波斯，有時候會把兼具溫柔和美麗的女性比作天女。這跟形容她們是女神一樣，都是用來表示值得崇拜的意思。
這枚飛天女菩薩是較為少見的主題，尤其又是極為精緻的高浮雕大型銅章，很值得收藏，請藏家切勿錯過。

A heavenly maiden refers to a woman living in the celestial realm, generally serving as attendants to the Heavenly Emperor. They are said to wear feathered robes that allow them to fly through the air (the legend of the feathered robe). Flying heavenly figures frequently appear in Buddhist art, and female figures in particular are often considered heavenly maidens. Some theories suggest that this concept originated in India, while others propose origins in the East or Persia. Sometimes, women who are both gentle and beautiful are compared to heavenly maidens. This is similar to calling them goddesses, as it signifies their revered status.
This flying heavenly maiden Avalokiteshvara medal is a relatively rare theme, especially as an exquisitely detailed high-relief large bronze medal. It is highly collectible, so collectors definitely should not miss it.
