This superb lot brings together two bulbous ovoid fine earthenware vases from the famous Belgian manufacture Boch Frères La Louvière, offering an exceptional testament to the pottery's technical virtuosity during the 1930s Art Deco period. The first vase, weighing 1200 grams, features the prestigious and highly sought-after Japonism-inspired pattern named Golden Bird, depicting a stylized bird of paradise in full flight among hand-painted floral scrolls and elegant foliage richly heightened with fine gold against a marbled powder blue and celadon glazed background. The second vase, weighing 1300 grams, showcases the rare geometric and floral Art Deco pattern listed under reference D.5141, characterized by a wide central cream band decorated with a rich motif of stylized brick-red and orange-yellow flowers, sandwiched between two sections of solid, luminous royal blue. The reverse of both pieces provides full authenticity and confirms their perfect match, revealing the exact same shape reference number 1277 impressed into the clay along with the official factory stamps, decor frames, and specific artist marks. Both pieces share the same harmonious dimensions with a height of 24 centimeters, a maximum belly diameter of approximately 17 centimeters, and a neck opening of 11 centimeters, each fitted with two stylized wavy lug handles applied to the shoulder. The set is in very good overall condition, with the earthenware body completely free of any cracks or chips, showing only normal and discreet age-related wear with some localized loss of gilding, particularly on the relief of the handles, which authentically witnesses their past history.
