Description
This cast bronze cross pendant features five raised medallions arranged in a composition reminiscent of the medieval Jerusalem Cross tradition. The central medallion surrounded by four smaller elements recalls the symbolic arrangement associated with the Five Holy Wounds of Christ—the wounds to His hands, feet, and side—which became one of the most enduring devotional motifs of the Crusader and medieval Christian world.

Its integral suspension loop, simple cast construction, and well-preserved archaeological surface correspond to devotional crosses produced in the Eastern Mediterranean during the High Middle Ages. Although a precise workshop cannot be identified, the iconographic arrangement shows clear affinity with Jerusalem-style pilgrimage crosses and devotional objects of the 12th–13th centuries.
