Natsume - Japanese Black Lacquer Kogo Box with Paulownia Crest and Red Tassel Cord - Wood, lacquer - Lacquer Kogo Box
Japanese traditional lacquerware Kagibako (Key Box) finished in elegant black lacquer with a refined gold Go-san Kiri (Paulownia crest) motif on the lid.
The box features decorative red silk tassels and retains its original presentation box. Traditionally, this type of box was used to safely store important keys, seals, or small valuables. Today it is appreciated as both a practical storage box and a decorative example of Japanese craftsmanship.
The interior is lined with traditional decorative paper, while the glossy lacquer exterior gives the piece a refined appearance suitable for display.
This style of lacquerware was commonly produced during the late Showa to early Heisei period (approximately 1970s–1990s) and is becoming increasingly difficult to find in such well-preserved condition with its original box.
Condition
• Excellent condition with very light signs of use.
• Used only a few times and carefully preserved.
• Original storage box included.
