Large commemorative silver medal issued by John Pinches Medallists Ltd., London, struck in 1972 to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo (18 June 1815).
The medal features detailed high-relief designs with a wreath surrounding the central motif. The edge is engraved:
“WATERLOO JUNE 18 1815”
and bears the maker’s initials “J.P.” together with the edition number 3912.
According to the original issue, only 5,000 medals were minted.
