Vintage KW (Karl Wieden) Sorrent Desk Lighter – Germany, 1950s (Functional!)

Selling a collectible Karl Wieden (KW) Sorrent desk lighter, an authentic Mid-Century Modern design piece, made in Germany in the late 1950s.

It is a special decorative object and a rare piece for professional collectors, remarkable for its aerodynamic asymmetrical shape and German mechanical quality.

Working condition: Perfectly functional! The original automatic mechanism fires flawlessly when pressed, the wheel has good teeth and produces a strong spark, and the flame is stable (see photos).

Curved triangular body, dressed on the edges in an elegant cream-colored woven texture (straw/rattan style), framed by glossy black finishes. The upper mechanism is made of gilded brass.

Authenticity marks: On the back of the metal insert (next to the tank) is engraved the original brand logo: "KW sorrent".

Fuel: Works on gasoline (lighter oil) and standard flint. Refueling is extremely simple through the window provided with cotton wool at the base.

Aesthetic condition: Piece preserved in very good condition for its age (over 60 years). It shows normal signs of use, micro-scratches and a light patina of time on the brass elements, details that confirm its authenticity and vintage charm (no cracks or structural defects).
