Original Soviet wall plaque depicting Joseph Stalin in a classic profile view, produced in the USSR during the mid-20th century (circa 1940s–1950s).
This piece is a clear example of official Soviet visual propaganda from the height of the Stalin era, when such images were widely displayed in public institutions, offices, and administrative buildings as symbols of authority and ideological presence.
The plaque is cast in aluminium (silumin), a material commonly used in Soviet industrial production. The front shows a strong, stylized portrait with characteristic features, while the reverse retains an authentic rough casting texture, confirming original period manufacturing.
After the de-Stalinization period (post-1956), many such items were removed and destroyed, making surviving examples increasingly collectible today.
