Mariska 出生于南美的苏里南。她具有苏里南、印尼、非洲和荷兰血统，她在荷兰长大。生活在美丽的维米尔之城代尔夫特，身处伦勃朗的国度，因应一项香水品牌的任务来到了威尼斯，被威尼斯的巴洛克艺术、建筑和历史深深打动。她生命中的种种影响，成为她的灵感。
Mariska 开始把这些灵感融入自己的作品，受她的生活与存在感所影响。
她在职业生涯中获得了许多奖项，并有大量出版物。

受巴洛克、幻想与文化符号的启发，她的影像既具有 timeless（超越时空感）的魅力，也极具个人化。
她将女性美视为一个层叠的光谱，从低语般的和谐到强烈的当下感。

Mariska 花大量时间精心构建她的布景，这也体现了她的其他才华。她用炭笔勾画，善于运用金、纺织品，并且是一位出色的照片后期处理师。她的所有才华在她创作的每一件作品中都得到汇聚。
