Rare Large Polished Goniatite Devonian Manticoceras. With Angular Zigzag Suture Lines.

Up for auction is a highly aesthetic, museum-grade large Goniatite specimen belonging to the genus Manticoceras (or Gonioclymenia). Originating from the rich Devonian marine deposits in the Sahara desert region of Morocco, this ancient cephalopod is approximately 360–380 million years old.

The specimen has been masterfully hand-polished on its main face to unveil its incredible internal chambers. It features striking, sharp, zigzagging goniatitic suture lines that show where the internal walls met the outer shell. The deep brownish-grey minerals contrast spectacularly against the lighter chambers, creating a compelling naturally occurring pattern.
