Sterling silver and turquoise bracelet features nine (9) sky blue turquoise cabochons, alternating round and oval, bezel set on the face of the bracelet. The stones are framed inside a silver rope-patterned rectangular box. Linked to the “box” are two arms of silver which curve back to complete the bracelet structure. These arms each have three raised silver beads in a raised silver frame that complements the rope frame on the face. The inside of the bracelet is stamped sterling, but there is no maker's mark. The absence of a maker mark suggests that this piece dates from the 1930s to the 1940s. A great addition to any collection of Native American Jewelry.

The bracelet remains in very good condition, with the lovely patina of Old Pawn pieces, and I did not attempt to clean it. The turquoise cabochons have no cracks, chips, or losses; the bezel settings remain secure around the stones. Other than the normal tarnish of time, the silver shows no scratches or losses. This is a medium to small bracelet; with a diameter of approx. 17 3/4 inches, it measures approx. 2 ¼ inches across at the widest point. The opening is approx. 1 inch across. The round cabochons are approx. ¼ inch in diameter; the oval ones are approx. 3/16 inch long. The width of the silver band is approx. ¼ inch. Please carefully review photos for full perspective.

The bracelet was originally sold at the Bell Trading Post in Albuquerque, New Mexico, established in 1932 during the Great Depression by Jack Michelson and his wife, Mildred. The trading post served as a financial backer, distributor, and retailer for local Native American artisans, primarily Navajo silversmiths and weavers. The business later passed to their children and eventually closed in the 1980s.
