Description
Elegant jewelry-shaped vase with a distinctive garlic-mouth neck, bulbous gourd section, slender neck and pear-shaped body, rising to a small foot. Painted in rich, vivid underglaze blue with scrolling lotus and foliate scrolls, the patterns arranged in clear horizontal bands around the neck, shoulder and body, with fluid lines and well-defined details typical of Kangxi blue and white. The mouth is mounted with a decorative metal band with a petal-shaped border, adding a refined finish. The blue tone is bright and saturated, and the composition is balanced and rhythmic.
Condition
Restored with adhesive; metal mounted rim, with suspected damage to the original porcelain edge beneath the mount. Visible hairline crack on the body; shows age and wear consistent with period and handling.
