卖家的描述

Oribe-Glazed Flower Vase (Hanaire) by Goro Suzuki — With Fitted Wooden Box

A tall, cylindrical flower vase by internationally acclaimed potter Goro Suzuki, glazed in vivid Oribe green that runs and pools across a richly textured, ridged surface. Deep bands of copper-green glaze pool over an unglazed, earthy body scored with horizontal ridges, creating a bold, painterly interplay of color and texture reminiscent of moss-covered bark. The dynamic, confident form reflects Suzuki's reputation as one of the most distinctive and expressive voices in contemporary Japanese ceramics. Comes with a fitted wooden box.

【Artist Profile】

Goro Suzuki (b.1941) was born in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. He was selected for the Nitten exhibition in 1961, the same year he received the Governor's Prize at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, followed by the Excellence Award in 1962 and the Grand Prize in 1966. He exhibited at the Asian Ceramic Art Exhibition in 1963 and received the Encouragement Award at the 3rd Sino-Japanese International Ceramic Art Exhibition in 1971. His international career includes a ceramics study tour of the United States in 1969–70 with a solo exhibition in Los Angeles, an appointment to Rhode Island School of Design in 1975 after receiving the 75th Anniversary Prize at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, and a visiting appointment at Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1982. He held a solo exhibition at the Frank Lloyd Gallery in the United States in 1998 and has exhibited widely at department stores and galleries across Japan.
