Small trays and pin dishes such as this one served specific roles within Masonic culture.

**Festive Boards & Harmony Hours:**
After formal Lodge meetings, members gather for dinner and socialising (the Festive Board). Small trays were often placed on tables to hold loose change cufflinks or lapel pins removed during the transition from formal regalia to casual dining attire.

**Dues and Charity Collections:**
While larger alms plates are used inside the temple, miniature trays like this were frequently kept in the Tyler’s room (the entryway) or on a secretary’s desk to collect loose coins for lodge dues tokens or charity funds.

**Commemorative Presentation Gifts:**
Lodges routinely commission specialised glassware ash trays and pin dishes to mark significant milestones such as a lodge’s anniversary or an initiation event. These were gifted to visiting brethren or newly raised members.

**Objects:**
All the objects included in this auction originate from my family’s private used collection, which has been passed down through generations of true Masons.

**Refused or Unpaid Parcels:**
Refused or unpaid parcels will be returned to me, and it may take up to a month for me to resend them back to the buyer. If the full postage fees are not paid again, the parcel will not be send and case will be reported to Catawiki.

**Missing or Incorrect Address Parcels:**
Parcels with missing or incorrect addresses will be returned to me. This process may take up to a month, and only a resend to the buyer will be possible if the full postage fees are paid.
