Rare Set of 6 Villeroy & Boch Alice in Wonderland Plates, c. 1947–1956

A rare and charming complete set of six Villeroy & Boch plates featuring iconic characters from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, with illustrations based on the celebrated original artwork of Sir John Tenniel.

The plates feature Alice, the White Rabbit and the Queen of Hearts, each presented in a beautifully detailed central illustration. The elegant scalloped shape and fine gilded rim add to their distinctive mid-century character.

The original Villeroy & Boch backstamp marked "Made in France – Saar Economic Union” dates the set to the post-war Saar Economic Union period, approximately 1947–1956.

A particularly desirable complete set of six, rarely found together and highly appealing to collectors of Villeroy & Boch, Alice in Wonderland memorabilia and illustrated tableware.

Condition: Overall good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use. One plate has a small chip to the underside of the rim, as shown in the photographs. The chip does not affect the decorated front surface.
