卖家的描述
Scientific name: †Carpopenaeus callirostris - Fossil Shrimp
Location: Hjoula, Byblos, Lebanon
Geological Formation: Sannine Formation
Age: Upper Cretaceous, Cenomanian stage (~94 million years)
Size: Shrimp: 4,6cm - Matrix size: 6,5cm x 5cm x 1,2cm
REF.: #S634
DESCRIPTION:
Observations: Impressive natural and nicely preserved fossil Shrimp (Carpopenaeus sp). Coming from the famous Cretaceous outcrops of Lebanon. These fossil deposits were first mentioned by the Greek historian Herodotus where he said there were "fish in the stones".
It is a fairly good quality specimen, quite large as well compared with the average for this species. Regarding its restorations or repairs, its outline has simply been slightly excavated to make it stand out (highligh) from the natural matrix. A stabilizer Paraloid B72 has also been applied to its surface for better preservation. But there is no color enhancement or restoration.
All of our fossils come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Every week, the issued Certificates of Authenticity are updated in our database verification system on our website. If you find that your certificate has not yet been updated, please contact us and we will update it immediately. Display box not included.
