Greek school reading book consisting of selected passages from the Holy Scriptures, prepared for use in schools according to the method of the British and Foreign School Society.
Printed in London by R. Watts, 1833.

“Μαθήματα διά Ανάγνωσιν, εκλεχθέντα από τας Ιεράς Γραφάς, διά χρήσιν των σχολείων, κατά τον τρόπον της περί Σχολείων Βρετανικής και Ξένης Εταιρίας.”

Bibliographical collation: title leaf + 156 numbered pages. The copy is complete, ending on page 156 with “ΤΕΛΟΣ” and the printer’s imprint.
Format: approximately 18 × 11.5 cm.
Binding: black cloth-covered boards.
Condition: Fair. The text block is complete and readable. The binding shows substantial wear, scuffing, soiling and rubbed corners/edges. There is foxing and age-toning throughout. The endpapers are stained and show remnants of an old paper label. An old ownership inscription is present on the front endpaper. Several leaves have tears and small losses at the lower outer margins, visible for example on pages 47, 55, 57 and 69; no loss of printed text has been observed. Please examine all photographs carefully.
