卖家的描述
Also called “E‑class enstatite chondrites.” Except for those collected in Antarctica and the NWA, only twenty‑four have been found. They owe their name to the large amount of enstatite present. The iron they contain is not found forming oxides, but sulfides or as metal. This would indicate that their formation occurred in an oxygen‑poor region, probably inside Mercury’s orbit.
The Al Haggounia 001 meteorite has finally been classified, after much controversy, as an EL 4‑7 molten enstatite chondrite. The piece we are auctioning in this lot is a complete, large piece for a good collection.
Due to its antiquity, Al Haggounia 001 is considered by many as a “fossil meteorite.” On the other hand, chondrites are the oldest materials in the Solar System, with an estimated formation age of more than 4.5 billion years.
An excellent opportunity to add this marvel of the universe to your collection.
We belong to the leading global associations related to meteorites: GMA (Global Meteorite Association), IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association), and The Meteoritical Society, so all our meteorites come with a certificate of authenticity and we guarantee all our meteorites for life.
