Antique carved, gilded and silvered wooden frame – refined Baroque / Rococo style with vegetal decoration

Elegant antique frame made of carved wood and richly decorated with elaborate vegetal motifs, scrolls, leaves and finely worked foliage ornaments positioned at the corners and along the frame.

The frame features a distinctive gilded and silvered finish, enriched by traces and visible areas of an underlying deep red/purple polychrome layer. The combination of these colours, together with the abrasions and small losses of the original finish, gives the frame an authentic aged appearance and a beautiful decorative patina.

The ornamental composition, characterised by large scrolls and vegetal motifs, recalls the refined decorative language of the Baroque and Rococo periods, traditionally used for important frames intended for paintings, mirrors and decorative artworks.
