Hemiobol (Silver, 6.74 mm, 0.28 g).

Obv: Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet.
Rev: AΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig; all within incuse square.

Reference: Kroll 14; HGC 4, 1681.

During the Classical period, Athens emerged as the leading power of the Greek world, building a vast maritime empire and becoming a major center of democracy, philosophy, art and architecture.
