This painting presents a peaceful coastal scene where the expanse of the beach, the calm sea, and the delicate brightness of the sky come together to create a serene and evocative atmosphere. The composition captures a moment of low tide, when the water has receded and reveals a large stretch of wet sand dotted with small pebbles, puddles, boats, and rock formations. Everything seems to unfold slowly, under soft light that tints the landscape with pink, bluish, and violet hues.

The beach occupies a considerable portion of the work and functions as the broad open space on which the various elements of the scene are distributed. Its surface shows a warm blend of browns, ochres and reddish tones, accompanied by innumerable light and dark nuances. The small pebbles and shells scattered on the sand create an irregular visual rhythm, adding variety and naturalness to the foreground. These tiny color notes gradually lead the eye toward the central area, where land and water meet.

The rocks in the foreground have a strong, expressive presence. Their dark and irregular forms stand out among the pools and wet sand, creating a strong contrast with the pale reflections of the sea.
