Description (English):
An exceptionally rare and complete antique mechanical butter churn from the early 20th century (c. 1900–1920), marked "Holland" in elegant script.

This lot is a true collector's item. While most historical churns with cast-iron gear mechanisms featured wooden tubs or glass jars, this premium model boasts a heavy, white-glazed porcelain/stoneware crock.

The most unique and rare feature is the internal mechanism: the lower churn paddle/wheel is also entirely made of heavy glazed porcelain with a finely ribbed surface, engineered to efficiently churn cream into butter. The inner wall of the ceramic tub features hand-worked diagonal grooves to optimize friction during operation.

Driven by a robust cast-iron gear mechanism with a wooden crank handle, and fitted with its original two-piece wooden lid.

Rarity & Condition:
Butter churns featuring a porcelain/ceramic paddle and tub are extremely scarce, as fragile ceramic kitchenware of this age rarely survived intact. This piece is in remarkably excellent condition with no major chips or cracks to the ceramic components, showing only light, authentic patina on the ironwork and wooden lid appropriate for its age. The mechanical gear mechanism turns smoothly.

A magnificent and museum-quality display piece for collectors of antique kitchenalia, dairy heritage, or fine Dutch antiques.
