The AF Nikkor 35mm F2 D is Nikon's fast autofocus wide-angle standard, and one of the most useful primes in the F-mount system. At F2 it is a full stop and a half brighter than the kit zooms it replaces, and it focuses down to 0.25m, close enough for detail work. The D designation means it reports subject distance to the camera for more accurate flash and matrix metering. On a full-frame body it is a classic reportage 35mm; on a DX body it becomes a fast short standard.
