A striking medieval bronze cross distinguished by its strongly flared arms, pronounced terminal projections and an intriguing arrangement of deeply impressed concentric ring-and-dot motifs.

Most remarkable is the horizontal arm, where five prominent circular motifs extend from one side of the cross to the other. Within a Christian devotional interpretation, this group of five may evoke the Five Holy Wounds of Christ — the wounds of the hands, feet and side suffered during the Crucifixion. The symbolism of the Five Wounds became an important focus of medieval devotion and provides an evocative possible interpretation for this unusual arrangement.

Further concentric circles continue vertically along the body of the cross, giving the object a strongly geometric and almost celestial appearance. Such circles could carry several layers of meaning in medieval Christian art, including eternity, divine perfection and sacred light, while also belonging to a much older decorative tradition.

The unusual silhouette is particularly attractive: the crossbar terminates in upward and downward projecting points, while the lower arm expands into a broad, slightly curved foot. Above is an integral suspension element, indicating that the cross was intended to be worn or suspended as a personal devotional object.

The bronze preserves an appealing ancient surface with areas of green patination, earthen deposits and exposed warm bronze tones, emphasizing its age and archaeological character.
