Get your hands on this rare vintage IWC Schaffhausen Türler R 815 A from the late 1960s, featuring the serviced calibre 8541 Pellaton automatic movement, double-signed silver-champagne dial, stainless-steel case, new plexiglass crystal and 3-month functionality guarantee.
Model History:
This IWC Schaffhausen is a particularly attractive Türler-signed version of reference R 815 A, a classic late-1960s automatic dress watch housed in a distinctive cushion-shaped stainless-steel case.
The dial carries both the IWC Schaffhausen signature and the name Türler, the renowned Swiss jewellery and watch retailer founded in Zürich in the 19th century. Double-signed watches of this type are especially interesting to collectors, as they document the period when prestigious retailers frequently had their names printed on watches supplied by major Swiss manufacturers. Türler-signed IWC watches are significantly less common than standard examples.
Inside is the highly regarded IWC calibre 8541, part of the final generation of IWC’s classic in-house Pellaton automatic movements. Developed from Albert Pellaton’s famous winding system, the calibre uses a pawl-based bidirectional automatic winding mechanism rather than the more conventional reversing-wheel arrangement. The calibre 8541 added a date complication to the 854 family and operated at 19,800 vibrations per hour.

Condition:
The watch is in good vintage condition and retains a very attractive overall appearance.
The stainless-steel cushion case shows some age-related wear, including scratches, small marks and areas of wear around the bezel and case edges, but it is well-preserved overall. The characteristic broad brushed upper surface and overall geometry of the case remain clearly recognisable.
The silver-champagne dial is well preserved for its age, with attractive applied baton hour markers, a framed date aperture and the desirable double signature of IWC Schaffhausen and Türler. Minor signs of ageing are visible under close inspection, but the printing remains clear and the dial presents very well overall.
The watch is fitted with a new, scratch-free plexiglass crystal. The signed IWC crown is present. The stainless-steel mesh bracelet is a non-original replacement.
The IWC calibre 8541 has been fully serviced in August 2026 and is functioning correctly. At the time of photography, a timegrapher test showed an excellent reading of approximately -1 second per day, 307° amplitude and 0.0 ms beat error, measured at the calibre’s correct frequency of 19,800 vibrations per hour. A 3-month functionality guarantee is included.
I aim to capture the condition of the watch accurately. Please make sure to review the pictures closely before bidding.
The watch has been completely serviced by a professional watchmaker and tested for full functionality. The water resistance of the watch cannot be guaranteed.
