PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This elegant Japanese flower vase was created by Houun (峰雲) and is associated with the traditional metalworking culture of Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture.
Its graceful teardrop-shaped body and long narrow neck create a refined silhouette suitable for a single flower or a minimalist ikebana arrangement.
A deep reddish-brown surface is enhanced by attractive blue-green patina and natural color variations that give the piece a rich, aged appearance.
A gold-toned chrysanthemum crest decorates the front and provides a refined Japanese accent against the dark metal surface.
With a substantial weight of approximately 1.3 kg, the vase has a solid and high-quality presence.

The craft has a history of approximately 400 years and developed into the production of bronze vases, Buddhist fittings, incense burners and decorative metal objects.
Takaoka copperware was officially designated as a Traditional Craft of Japan in 1975.
