A beautiful and rare gold dust container with lid, crafted by the Akan people of Ghana or Ivory Coast. This type of miniature box was used by gold merchants to safely store precious gold dust. The lid features a very detailed, dense pattern of cast geometric elements.

From a private collection, with nice signs of age.
