Richard Sapper used the name Coban to refer to a little town in Guatemala, in the middle of the coffee growing region that produces one of the best coffees in the world. His grandfather was a coffee planter there, and his father was born there.

The machine as a whole is in good condition, given its age with some usual signs of wear and tear - see pictures.
