Official Walt Disney Company serigraph cel featuring Perdita and four of her puppies from the classic animated film One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

The charming composition shows Perdita walking gracefully while her playful puppies gather around her. One puppy lies across her back, another is carried beneath her body, and two others sit beside her looking upwards. Perdita is easily identified by her blue collar and elegant facial expression, while the puppies wear their characteristic red collars.

The restrained palette of white, grey, black, blue and red, together with the crisp outlines and expressive poses, faithfully reproduces the distinctive graphic style of Disney’s celebrated 1961 animated feature.

The character artwork was created using the serigraph process, with the different colours and outlines screen-printed onto transparent acetate. The cel is presented over a softly textured pale background sheet.

The lower-right corner bears the official circular certification seal reading:

One Hundred and One Dalmatians was released by Walt Disney Productions in 1961 and was based on the novel by Dodie Smith. The film follows Pongo and Perdita as they attempt to rescue their puppies from Cruella de Vil.

The film is particularly important in animation history because it was the first Disney animated feature to use the Xerox process throughout production, allowing the animators’ original drawing lines to be transferred directly onto cels. This innovative technique helped preserve the energetic, graphic quality that became one of the film’s defining visual characteristics.

This artwork is an official later collector’s sericel produced from Disney character art. It is not a unique production cel used during the filming of the 1961 movie. No individual edition number or production date is visible on the piece.

CONDITION:

Very good collector’s condition overall. The character artwork retains attractive colours, clean black outlines and an excellent visual presentation. No major cracking, serious creasing or colour loss is visible.

The acetate and background may display minor age- and storage-related imperfections, including light surface or handling marks, superficial scuffs, slight waviness and a small crease or pressure mark near the lower-left margin. Some apparent marks, reflections or dust may be located on the protective surface rather than on the printed image itself.
