Offered here is a rare and highly collectible Zenith El Primero Defy A782, one of the distinctive second-generation El Primero chronographs from the early 1970s.

The A782 is immediately recognizable by its futuristic 1970s design, featuring a robust stainless-steel tonneau-shaped case, characteristic 14-sided bezel, screw-down crown and integrated stainless-steel “lobster” bracelet. The design perfectly captures the bold Space Age aesthetic of the period.

Inside the watch is the legendary Zenith calibre 3019 PHC, an automatic high-frequency chronograph movement with date indication. The El Primero movement family is historically important as one of the earliest automatic high-frequency chronograph movements.

The A782 was produced in a limited quantity, with Zenith documenting approximately 1,000 examples in this configuration, making it a particularly interesting reference for collectors of vintage Zenith and early El Primero watches
