Name: Okina (翁面)

Purpose: The main character in the Noh play "Okina," representing a sacred, long-lived old man, symbolizing good fortune and blessings. It is a traditional Japanese ceremonial mask. The "Okina" is also known as "Kuroshiki-suke" (黑式尉). "Wengmian" is also known as "Heishiwei". It is made by Shuangyun Society, handcrafted, using the dry lacquer technique, and features a handwritten signature and seal on the back, with two signatures.

Craftsmanship: Dry lacquer (Kanshitsu), not carved from a single piece of wood; linen base, multiple layers of lacquer repeatedly applied, covered with a dark brown glossy lacquer, and the lips are lacquered in vermilion.

The Okina holds a very high position in Noh, belonging to the category of sacred blessing masks, often used in New Year\'s festivals, symbolizing longevity and national prosperity. The dry lacquer technique is lighter than wood carving. In ancient times, it was worn for actual performances, and later it was widely used as an antique decoration in tea rooms and Japanese-style rooms.
