Item Description:
A Japanese cast metal incense burner in the form of a stylised pheasant. Its rounded body, gently lowered head and long, upward-sweeping tail create an elegant sculptural silhouette.

The textured surface combines gold-toned colouring with green and dark brown accents, highlighting the contours of the bird. The wings form a removable lid with three triangular openings for the passage of incense smoke.

The piece comes with a glossy black rectangular display base, an inscribed wooden box and a wooden display plaque. The plaque identifies the pheasant as Japan’s national bird.

Surface marks and uneven colouring are visible on the burner. The display base has light scratches, and the wooden box shows spotting and discolouration. Please examine the photographs for details of the finish and condition.
