Vintage Tsukuda Hobby Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Plastic Model Kits – Lot of 3 (1984)

An increasingly rarer selection of vintage plastic model kits based on Hayao Miyazaki’s legendary 1984 animated masterpiece, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. These items were manufactured by the famous Japanese company Tsukuda Hobby shortly after the movie’s theatrical debut. This specific series represents some of the earliest premium merchandise created for what would later become the foundation of Studio Ghibli. Because Tsukuda Hobby has since closed its doors, these original mid-1980s releases are highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

The lot includes three distinct kits from this iconic anime science-fiction universe. First is Series No. 1, featuring Nausicaä in a 1/20 scale setting. Next is Series No. 3, which contains the elegant 1/72 scale Gunship of the Valley of Wind. Finally, the lot features Series No. 4, showing the massive Ohm (Ohmu) creature with Nausicaä in 1/20 scale. All three model kits are completely unused, unbuilt, and remain in their original vintage condition. The internal plastic parts are still safely sealed inside their original Japanese factory bags in two of the sets. Each box displays the authentic retro artwork and early product development details from the golden age of Japanese character modeling.
Unlike later simplified reissues by other brands, Tsukuda Hobby emphasized highly realistic, biological sculpting true to Miyazaki's original concepts.
